Applications for NorthStar Cooperative's $500 scholarships are due October 1, 2016. NorthStar Cooperative stockowners and their children qualify for the scholarship if they are currently enrolled and attending a college, university or vocational school and majoring in an ag-related field. Up to three $500 scholarships are awarded annually to deserving applicants in an effort to encourage post high school study in the field of agriculture.

Scholarship applicants are evaluated on scholastic achievement, current and potential leadership, and interest in pursuing a career in agriculture. Additionally, candidates must submit a 400 600 word essay discussing how agricultural associations can work towards keeping the public better informed on the merits and values of food animal production.
