The Show Like A Pro committee welcomes their 2017 workshop and show judges. Michael Creek of Palmyra Farm, Hagerstown, Md., and Katie Kearns of Rocky Ridge, Md., will be serving as officiates for the workshop’s show. Show Like A Pro will be held Mother’s Day weekend, May 13 and 14th at the Frederick Fair Grounds in Frederick, Md. Michael Creek began his cattle evaluation career as a member of the Maryland 4-H Judging Team in 1998. He went on to compete on a collegiate level in 2004 at Cornell University. He has judged numerous county and state shows, as well as regional. Michael has been an official for All-American contests, served as an official for the 2016 Hoard’s Dairyman Judging Contest, and gives back as a coach for the Washington County dairy judging team.

Michael is familiar to the workings of a show ring as he has won numerous showmanship contests in his youth. Michael lives with his fiancé, Elizabeth DeBold, and is co-owner/founder of Palmyra Farm Cheese. Palmyra Farm has been home to Ayrshires for 50 years holding titles at World Dairy Expo, Madison, Wis., as 9-time Premier Breeder and 7-time Premier Exhibitor. At Expo last year, Palmyra Ayrshires were honored with the Intermediate Champion Female and the Junior Champion Female titles.

Palmyra Farm has had 135 All-American Ayrshire nominations and 46 All-American Ayrshires, 72 Ayrshire bulls to A.I., embryos exported to 10 countries, and has had seven No. 1 index cows. Michael is currently the site manager at the Trans Ova Maryland location, and Eastern Regional Manager with Trans Ova Genetics.

Katie Kearns will serve as the associate judge for the show. She grew up on her family’s dairy farm in southwest Wisconsin where they milked 120 Registered Holsteins.

Katie attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville where she studied Dairy Science. Her passion is working with high quality genetics within the show industry. Katie has had experience working for several show farms around the world, and has traveled extensively to work for these strings.

Katie currently works at Mercuro Farms in Rocky Ridge, Md.
