Select Sires Inc., is excited to announce the addition of Dr. David Brown as facilities operations manager for the Roger L. Ripley Production Center in Westby, Wis. Brown will oversee all day-to-day operations at the facility.
Brown is a graduate of Iowa State University with degrees in Zoology (B.S.) and Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.). After an 18-year career as a self-employed veterinarian, Brown joined the Accelerated Genetics team as staff veterinarian in January of 2008. During his time there, Brown was responsible for the semen export documentation team, semen export qualifications, compliance with USDA/APHIS export regulations, as well as health testing and welfare of 700 CSS qualified bulls housed at the Westby facility.
Since 2015, Brown was vice president of veterinary services and education for Genex, Shawano, Wis. In this role, he had veterinary oversite of the Shawano production facility as well as responsibilities for their Ithaca, N.Y.; Tiffin, Ohio; Strafford, Mo.; Mitchell, S.D. and Billings, Mont., production sites. During his time at Genex, he also traveled to Russia three times and China twelve times as an international consultant.

He was obviously remembered fondly for his seven years of service and was missed by the staff,” tells Dr. Tony Good, vice president of production operations for Select Sires.
Brown is a member of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP), American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Wisconsin Veterinary Medical Association (WVMA). In his down time, he serves as a home Bible study teacher and is a member of the United States Cycling Federation. He and his wife, Jodie, have one son, Stephen.
