Dr. Jenn Rowntree has recently joined Vita Plus as a calf and heifer specialist. Rowntree will provide on-farm support for sales staff within our market area for all calf- and heifer-related subjects. She will provide custom solutions to help dairy producers’ meet their calf and heifer program goals by utilizing current research and her practical experience as a veterinarian.

Rowntree grew up on her family’s 100-cow registered Holstein dairy farm in Baldwin, Wisconsin. She studied dairy science during her undergraduate career as a Food Animal Veterinary Medical Scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2009 to 2012. During this time, she worked in several dairy-related roles throughout her undergraduate years, including an assistant herd manager, a lab assistant in a forage research center, and an animal caretaker in New Zealand. She went on to earn her doctor of veterinary medicine degree, with a focus on food animal medicine, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. Most recently, she worked as an associate veterinarian servicing small and large animal owners across southwest Wisconsin. Rowntree has a passion for dairy calves and heifers and looks forward to helping producers raise healthy dairy replacements more efficiently.
