Size Matters in Rumen Protection

Size matters when it comes to rumen protected lysine. Smaller particles mean quicker rumen escape and higher bioavailability.

Choosing a rumen protected lysine shouldn't be complicated. The confusion stems from data taken out of context from a study conducted with AjiPRO®-L at the Miner Institute. The study was designed to determine how exposure to TMR can impact rumen protected lysine (RPL) products. It was never intended to measure bioavailability. The Miner Institute made this clear on page 9 in the October 2014 edition of their newsletter, writing, "conclusions regarding bioavailability of these products cannot be determined from this study as altered protection of lysine does not determine delivery of lysine to the blood of the cow." This report can be found here.

The bioavailability values of USA Lysine® are supported by two in vivo blood plasma research trials. The data from these trials indicate that one pound of USA Lysine supplies approximately 202 grams of MP Lysine. This is almost twice what the nearest competitor provides.

USA Lysine is manufactured using a proprietary encapsulation manufacturing process developed with a decade's worth of research by Kemin scientists and engineers. This process protects the lysine and reliably delivers it through the rumen and into the small intestine, where it can be absorbed and utilized.

USA Lysine is the most consistent, concentrated, cost-effective source of MP Lysine on the market today.
