The Brown Swiss Association has selected the 2018-2019 Ambassador and Alternate Ambassadors during the National Brown Swiss convention in Coralville, IA on June 28th, 2018. Eight individuals competed for the Youth Ambassador position. The National Youth Ambassador supports and promotes the Brown Swiss Cattle Breeders’ Association and National Programs. As the Ambassador, they will represent the breed at local, state and national shows, the national convention and other breed events.

Your 2018-2019 Ambassador is Jax Bauer from Hayfield, Minnesota. He is the 20-year-old son of Tony and Paula Bauer. He thanks his sister Bethany for igniting his passion for the Big Brown Cow. Their family operates Topaz Cattle Company. He is a sophomore at Oklahoma State University where he is majoring in Animal Science with an emphasis in production. He enjoys watching Oklahoma State sporting events or working at the University’s Dairy Center.

Your 2018-2019 Alternate Ambassador is Jaynie Rule from Dodgeville, WI. She is the 19-year-old daughter of Randy and Tammy Rule. Jaynie loves the Brown Swiss breed and is very proud of how she has developed and grown her herd. She is a freshman at the University of Wisconsin Platteville majoring in Dairy Science. She is active in many organizations at school including: Doing Pioneer Dairy Club, CERES Women’s Fraternity and choir.

To participate in the Youth Ambassador program, a youth must be a Brown Swiss National Junior member as defined by owning or leasing a registered Brown Swiss animal and be 16-21 years of age as of January 1 of the current year.
