It’s no secret that dairy farms and the dairy industry are an important part of Wisconsin’s rural communities and economy. However, community leaders, elected officials and citizens often have questions about modern dairy farming practices and business models.
A series of 2018 PDPW ACE On-the-Farm Twilight Meetings scheduled for August 27-31 and hosted by Wisconsin Towns Association, Wisconsin Counties Association and Professional Dairy Producers® (PDPW). Through a joint initiative called Agricultural Community Engagement® (ACE), the three organizations will provide an opportunity for open discussions on farming practices, resources and any other topics important to Wisconsin communities.
Each meeting is free and open to the public, beginning with a dairy farm tour at 6:00 p.m., followed by ice cream at 7:00 p.m., and facilitated discussion about dairy farming that will last until about 8:30 p.m.
The Twilight meetings will be held:
- Monday, August 27 – Kellercrest Holsteins, 1141 County Hwy JG South, Mount Horeb, Wis.
- Tuesday, August 28 – Miltrim Farms, 1715 W. Townline Road, Athens, Wis.
- Wednesday, August 29 – Brey Cycle Farm LLC, 2139 County Road O, Sturgeon Bay, Wis.
- Thursday, August 30 – Double S Dairy, N3447 Marshview Road., Markesan, Wis.
