Fairbanks Scales Inc., the oldest scale company in the U.S. and the world’s leader in weighing equipment, will be showcasing state-of-the-art advanced analytical and weighing instruments for the agricultural industry at the Iowa Power Farming Show, January 23-31, 2019 at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, Iowa, Booth 2703. On display will be the Perten AM 5200-A grain moisture tester, Perten AM 5800 portable manual grain moisture meter, the FB2558 vehicle weighing instrument, and the Probe-A-Load all-electric core sampler grain truck probe and rail car probe.

Visitors to the booth can see Perten Instruments’ AM 5200-A grain moisture tester, the third-generation high frequency moisture meter employing Unified Grain Moisture Algorithm (UGMA) technology. With improved accuracy, repeatability, reliability, and user interface, the AM 5200-A can be used as a stand-alone moisture meter at terminals or integrated into automated testing systems. The higher frequency used penetrates deep into samples for improved results.

Also to be featured is the AM 5800 portable grain moisture meter. The AM 5800 uses the same measurement cell, the same high frequency 150 MHz technology, the same UGMA algorithm, and the same calibrations as the industry-leading Perten AM 5200-A. The most accurate and repeatable portable moisture meter available, the AM 5800 can analyze grains, oilseeds, pulses, beans, lentils, seeds and more for moisture. It provides test weight/hectoliter weight, and temperature with the same calibrations as the officially approved AM 5200-A.

The FB2558 instrument to be displayed maintains an industry leading feature set while incorporating faster processing power, an updated operating system, and more memory. Up to five FB2558 instruments can be networked, sharing transactional data and traffic light controls from up to eight scale platforms. Transaction data is shared among networked instruments. The new FB2558 features a powerful integrated web utility that gives technicians complete access to all menu options. All configuration and calibration functions can be performed from a connected laptop or tablet using an Ethernet crossover cable or an existing network.

Also on display will be the Probe-A-Load probe, which samples high moisture grain or any flowable material. Meeting all state and federal regulations and type approved as an FGIS official sampling probe, the Probe-A-Load consistently provides an exact sample with no chance of excess foreign material. It features an extendable arm, 359° rotation, and built in traffic lights, flood lights, signal, and horn. Optional camera system and grain return systems are available.
