The Compeer Financial Fund for Rural America, the corporate giving program of Compeer Financial, has awarded 49 grants for the organization’s General Use Grant Program, totaling $268,101 this year. General Use Grants fund initiatives and organizations whose work enriches agriculture and rural America, which is Compeer Financial’s mission.
Seventeen organizations in Wisconsin received support from the General Use Grant Program, including:
Chippewa Valley Farm-City Day: for bus transportation for elementary students to 2019 Farm-City Day event
Clear Lake Area Community Center, Inc: for commercial stove acquisition and installation
Dairy Girl Network: support for Spanish on La Granja 101, an online Spanish course tailored to the dairy industry
Free Clinic of Pierce and St. Croix Counties: for general operating support
Grant County Dairy Promoters: for purchase of a trailer and two refrigerators to transport milk
GrassWorks Inc: support for revisions and re-printing of the Grazing Guide: A practical manual for managed grazing
Great Lakes Timber Professionals Association: support for Log A Load for Kids Charitable Harvest event
Green Lake County Fair: support for Agri-Puppets
Marquette County: support for outdoor classroom
Mutual Community Mission Group: for purchase of groceries for Groceries For Growth project
Riverway Communities of Hope: for professional mental health counseling and AODA treatment services for rural youth
Sauk County Agricultural Society: for new facilities for the hog, sheep, small animals and exotics projects
Sauk County Health Department: for tuberculosis screening and testing program for dairy industry workers
St. Croix River Association: support for the Farm to Faucet Education pilot
Vincent High School of Agricultural Science: support for urban agriculture teacher education and professional development during the summer
Western Wisconsin Conservation Council: for educational outreach, events and well-testing research program for watersheds in St. Croix County
Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College: for bovine breeder artificial insemination simulator
“These organizations give back to the communities in Compeer Financial’s territory every day, supporting agriculture, technology, education and the environment,” said John Monson, chair of Compeer Financial’s Fund for Rural America. “We are proud to continue our commitment to agriculture and rural America in the second year of our General Use Grant Program.”
