The Tulare City Council will proclaim March 14, 2019 to be Ag Day in the city. Ag organizations supporting the proclamation, including Tulare FFA, the International Agri-Center® and the Tulare County Farm Bureau, will join the Tulare Chamber of Commerce to comment at the March 5 city council meeting.
The proclamation, spearheaded by Tulare Mayor Jose Sigala, renews Tulare’s long-time support of production ag and ag related businesses. Comments are planned at approximately 7:30 p.m.
National Agriculture Week is celebrated each year to coincide with the arrival of spring and provides an opportunity to recognize the producers of food, fiber, flowers, forest and fish. Less than 1% of our population is involved in farming and ranching, but this small group feeds our nation as well as many others around the world. Here in the U.S., we are blessed with a safe, reliable and abundant, year-round supply of food and spend less per capita on food than any country around the world.
The International Agri-Center® is home to World Ag Expo®, the California Antique Farm Equipment Show®, AgVentures!® Learning Center and an antique farm equipment museum.
