Now is the time for members of FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative to begin making reservations to attend a fall district meeting near them. Kicking off this November, sixteen different meetings will be taking place across the cooperative’s seven-state membership.

“District meetings take place on an annual basis, and serve as a great opportunity for board members and staff to connect with members in our district and share with them what the cooperative has been doing on their behalf,” says John Rettler, dairy farmer from Neosho, Wis. and president of FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative. “FarmFirst is focused on the future, and these meetings help showcase a bit of what FarmFirst is doing for dairy farmers, here and in Washington, D.C.”

Meetings will be taking place across the Midwest, stretching from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, across Wisconsin to as far west as South Dakota. Members can anticipate enjoying a wonderful meal at each location and receive an update on the cooperative’s work on legislative issues and its member programs, in addition to conducting district elections and submitting resolutions.

“We welcome our members to take the time to attend a district meeting near them, as we always look forward to hearing what is on the mind of our members. This is an opportunity for members to share what matters most to them in terms of issues the cooperative focuses on, and to be a part of determining next year’s priorities,” says Rettler. “It’s a great opportunity to get off the farm and connect with fellow dairy farmers.”

Members must make reservations to attend their district meeting to provide an accurate meal count. Meeting reservations can be made online by visiting www.FarmFirstDairyCooperative.com or by calling 608-286-1906. Deadlines for making reservations are a week prior to each meeting. Meeting locations are listed below and can be found in FarmFirst’s member MilkLine newsletter as well as online.

This is the seventh year for the cooperative’s fall member meetings after being established in January 2013 as FarmFirst Dairy Cooperative.
