The Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association (WCA) is again accepting applications for two scholarships. The WCA Student Scholarship is available to any high school senior enrolled or planning to enroll in any university, technical college, community college in the United States, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Farm and Industry Short Course Program. The WCA Young Producer Scholarship provides a $1,500 travel stipend to a young producer between the ages of 18 and 35 years old in order to attend the 2020 Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Tradeshow held February 5-7, 2020, in San Antonio, Texas.
“It was humbling and an honor to receive the Young Producer Scholarship last year,” said Aaron Rathke, 2019 Young Producers Scholarship recipient. “The Cattle Industry Convention deepened my drive and passion to be a part of the beef industry moving forward, and I will forever be grateful for that opportunity.”
Details for each scholarship are as follows:
WCA Young Producer Scholarship Program: One candidate will be selected to receive a scholarship in the amount of $1,500 to attend the 2020 Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Tradeshow held February 5-7, 2020. The scholarship recipient will be recognized during the Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Association Winter Conference held February 21-22, 2020, at Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Applications for the Young Producer Scholarship are due January 2, 2020.
WCA Student Scholarship Program: This scholarship is available to any high school senior enrolled or planning to enroll in any university, technical college, community college in the United States, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison Farm and Industry Short Course Program. Applications must be postmarked no later than February 18, 2020.
