On behalf of its dairy farmers, American Dairy Association North East delivered Domino’s and Pizza Hut pizza to support essential workers on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“With the current disruption in the dairy supply chain, dairy farmers can relate to the challenges that all essential workers are dealing with during these unusual times,” said ADA North East CEO Rick Naczi. “Delivering pizza to those risking their own safety to benefit others is just a small way for dairy farmers to show their gratitude.”

To date pizza deliveries include:

  • 50 pizzas to the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Md.
  • 10 pizzas to the 39th Precinct of Philadelphia Police Department
  • 10 pizzas to a fire house/medic station in Philadelphia, Pa.
  • 15 pizzas to the Teall Avenue Post Office in Syracuse, N.Y.
  • 15 pizzas to a Shop Rite in Silver Spring, Md.
  • 15 pizzas to a Shop Rite in Timonium, Md.
  • 8 pizzas to the Westmoreland Food Bank near Pittsburgh, Pa.

On the national front, Domino’s Pizza, one of dairy checkoff’s partners, is donating about 10 million slices of pizza to support essential workers and families within its local communities. Each of the nation’s 6,126 stores is expected to give away 200 pizzas, including the more than 1,000 stores in the ADA North East territory.

Pizza Hut is also a dairy checkoff partner, and along with McDonald’s and Taco Bell, have grown dairy use by 1.3 billion pounds from 2014-2019.
