Kaukauna-based commercial/agricultural builder Fox Structures recently hired Chris Kooiman as agriculture specialist. From initial layout and design to finishing touches, Fox Structures’ agriculture experts offer valuable input every step of the way to ensure projects are done on time, within budget and meet the unique needs of farm operation and herd management.
Kooiman brings almost 40 years of experience to his new role as agriculture specialist. With a special interest in dairy, Chris has extensive experience managing the design and construction of milking parlors, free stall barns and heifer/calf facilities including those for robotic milking and calf feeding. Chris works as an auctioneer for Milwaukee Stockyards, serves as president for the Wisconsin Frame Builders Association and is a member of the National Frame Builders Association (NFBA). The NFBA has recognized his work as designer/project manager on Agriculture Building of the Year three years in a row!
Chris began his agricultural career as an auctioneer for Equity Livestock Cooperative in 1982 before transitioning to the building industry as a project manager in 2006. In 2014, he completed Star Buildings System’s Master Build/Design School course.
“The dairy industry has been confronted with a lot of challenges lately. We are looking for ways to better accommodate the needs of our friends in farming,” Fox Structures President Mark Mashlan shared. “Chris will bring his award-winning skills to building solutions that are not only creative and affordable, but also work well for their operations.”
