Consumer Perceptions and Animal Welfare Considerations
Join the Dairy Calf and Heifer Association (DCHA) for its next one-hour webinar
set for:
March 9, at 1:00 p.m. Central time

Marissa Hake, a veterinarian and director of animal welfare and sustainable farming at Fairlife, LLC, will deliver a thought-provoking talk about animal welfare and consumers’ ever-increasing concerns. In a world where individuals have endless dietary options and choices, those involved in production agriculture must build consumer trust around today’s farming practices. Animal welfare and calf care specifically are highly sensitive topics for consumers. Hake will discuss consumer insights around production animal agriculture and dive into specific future considerations for management, diet, health treatments, housing and more.
Hake’s interests include youngstock care and handling, on-farm protocol and culture development, and animal welfare. She is passionate about communicating with consumers regarding modern agriculture practices and technologies through her personal social media accounts – @CalfVet on Facebook and @CalfVet_ on Instagram.
