At this year’s World Dairy Expo, the 2024 A.C. “Whitie” Thomson Memorial Award was proudly presented to Adam Liddle of Argyle, N.Y., in recognition of his exemplary leadership, sportsmanship, and contributions to the dairy industry. This honor is awarded to herdsmen or showmen who embody the same values the award was founded upon.
Liddle operates Liddleholme Holsteins with his wife, Nicole, and their children - Anthony, Brock, and Hailee - along with their spouses, Kennedy, Kaylee, and Bob. He is also a proud grandfather to Layton. The Liddleholme prefix has quickly established itself as a prominent name in the show circuit, with their cattle earning numerous accolades, including All-NY, All-American, and Junior All-American awards. A highlight of their success came in 2018, when Liddleholme Resurrect Lu, an EX-97 cow, was named the first Production Cow at World Dairy Expo and subsequently earned All-American honors.
Liddle’s journey began in 8th grade when his parents sold the family farm. He became involved in the show circuit during high school when his father, Bill, managed Pamtom Farm in Hudson Falls, N.Y. In 1993, Adam and Nicole moved to Sharon Springs, N.Y, to work at Ridgedale Farm. Today, the Liddles milk 60 high-type cows in a tie-stall barn.
In addition to his work at Liddleholm, Liddle has judged numerous shows worldwide, including the Junior Holstein, Red & White, and Guernsey shows at World Dairy Expo. His extensive judging experience spans to international shows in Canada, Europe, Australia, Africa, and Switzerland. Liddle’s dedication to the dairy industry and his contributions to the show community make him a deserving recipient of this prestigious award.
