Foremost Farms USA, a major Midwest dairy cooperative and dairy manufacturing company, announces today that Greg Schlafer resigned his role as president and chief executive officer, effective April 11, 2025. Schlafer will take some time to rest and recharge before his role at another organization begins mid-year.
Schlafer joined Foremost Farms in December 2019, to restore the cooperative’s performance and financial stability. In his five-year tenure, Schlafer guided the cooperative from bank forbearance to lending group credibility. He led a transformation that strengthened operational performance and positioned Foremost Farms for future success by prioritizing investments in people, plants, new processes and technology and establishing a new headquarters.
“I was invited to Foremost Farms to restore a proud organization and membership, and I’m proud we’re back on the right path,” said Schlafer. “Dairy is a challenging industry, unlike any other, and it has been an honor to work alongside talented people that value working as one team from the board room to the plant floors. They have all supported and driven necessary changes to create value for the dairy farm families we serve.”
Joel Eigenbrood, Chairman of the Board - Foremost Farms, commended Schlafer’s contributions to the company. “Under Greg’s leadership, Foremost Farms made remarkable strides that turned the business around for a positive impact in our future. He built a strong team that will continue to streamline our network and drive efficiencies in our systems, and we are grateful for his leadership. We will move forward thoughtfully to search for his replacement.”
Foremost Farms will provide further updates on the placement of a new CEO as they become available.
