Harrisburg, Pa. – Whether you’re a beef, poultry or dairy producer, your workforce is one of your most important assets. In light of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Customs and Immigration Service (USCIS) enforcement activities across the country, the free webinar will be held on Tuesday, June 3 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. EST. with guest speaker, Brook Duer from Penn State Law’s Center for Agricultural and Shale Law. Hosted by the Center for Beef Excellence, Center for Poultry & Livestock Excellence, PA Beef Producers Working Group, and Center for Dairy Excellence, Duer will share what producers from all sectors of animal agriculture need to know about USCIS I-9 Audits and so-called “ICE raids” to best protect their business and workforce.
“Law enforcement can arrive without notice, so this nuts and bolts webinar will help you be prepared, be confident, and have well-rehearsed protocols to implement should you and/or your employees be confronted by USCIS personnel,” shared Brook Duer, who will be the guest speaker on the webinar. “Whether you’re a producer or agriculture professional who works with producers, we hope you’ll join us on June 3 to review the essential information you need to know.”
Brook Duer joined Penn State Law’s Center for Agricultural and Shale Law as a staff attorney in 2019. Prior to that, he was an attorney with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture for 12 years, serving 8 of those years as Chief Counsel to the agency and supervising the agency’s legal office. Prior to that, Brook practiced law for 18 years in Lancaster County.
