Silage roll-up

rolls silage bags

We created a homemade roll-up with 1-inch cable and a piece of pipe bent into a crank, then welded the cable to the crank. The cable length depends on the size of the bag. We use a 12-foot cable for our 10-foot bag.

We used to have a problem with silage drying out when it was windy or wet from rain and snow. With this feature, you can manage the quality of your forage a lot better for a more consistent ration.

This has really helped our feeding program, and it keeps the plastic bag material off of the neighbor's fence!
