Maggie Seiler, 2014

Maggie was the 26th Hoard's Dairyman summer editorial intern. While working with the magazine, Maggie helped prepare the 2014 World Dairy Expo supplement, compiled the Top 50 Co-op List, wrote the Farm Flash page and prepared other articles based on farm visits and meetings she attended.
Maggie now serves as the Special Publications editor at Hoard's Dairyman where she is responsible for development and marketing of books and plans, as well as coordinating internal communication pieces.
Maggie grew up in Valley Center, Kan. She was raised on a third-generation 150-cow, registered Holstein dairy. Her parents, Bob and Marcella, also farm 1,500 acres. The family focuses on developing their cattle's genetics while maintaining high milk production. Maggie continues her involvement in the operation by helping manage record and registration data.
She graduated from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan. with degrees in agricultural communications and animal sciences. On campus, she was involved in the K-State Agricultural Communicator of Tomorrow, as well as agricultural ambassadors, the dairy science club and the dairy judging team. Maggie also interned with the Kansas Dairy Association writing for and designing the Dairy Dispatch and other association publications. Additionally, she worked for the Kansas Center for Sustainable Agriculture and Alternative crops and ZimmComm News Media.
