With great pleasure and excitement, Premier Select Sires announces that Ryan Bodenhausen will assume the role of Southwestern Regional Marketing Manager. This role change will take place following current manager Joe Fowler’s retirement at the end of October 2019.
Bodenhausen presently serves as a Premier Select Sires Area Sales Manager in Kansas. For the past five years, he has been a driving force on the sales team—first for Southeast Select Sires (SESS), and then for Premier Select Sires after the January 2019 SESS/Select Sire Power merger to form Premier. He is a three-time recipient of the Super Achiever sales award, and his semen, product, and nitrogen sales over the past three years have averaged over $773,000 per year.
As Regional Marketing Manager, Bodenhausen will directly supervise the Sales Representatives and Reproductive Service Specialists in the Southwestern Region of Premier. He will work with other employees to continue the development of the sales market and ensure that the needs of customers are met.

Bodenhausen’s predecessor, Fowler, carried the title of Southwestern Regional Marketing Manager since shortly after the formation of Premier. Prior to the merger, he served SESS for nearly 40 years, making active contributions by working as an Area Sales Manager, implementing the Select Mating Service® and Program for Genetic AdvancementTM programs, heading up the growth and development of large herd markets, and more.
“Ryan will make an outstanding Regional Marketing Manager for the Southwestern Region,” said Fowler. “He has proved his work ethic and attention to detail through his increases in sales as an ASM. Ryan is a unique individual with his knowledge and interest in both the dairy and beef industry. Having these interests will provide leadership for the entire marketing program.”
A graduate of Kansas State University, Bodenhausen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. He spent four years as a classifier with Holstein USA after graduation, and then two years as an Independent Beef Sales Representative for SESS before accepting the position of Area Sales Manager for SESS/Premier.
Bodenhausen was born and raised in Muscotah, Kansas, where he currently resides with his wife Kayla and their two daughters, Brinley and Bryer. He grew up on a diversified family farm with 70 head of registered Holsteins, row crops, and cow/calf pairs. Ryan and his wife now enjoy running a small herd of registered Simmentals, marketing the breeding bulls annually through a production sale and showing heifers throughout the year.
