I built a calf warmer from two water tanks that wouldn’t hold water anymore. I took one water tank and drilled holes in the sides to run steel piping through to create a floor base. Then I layered a thin, slotted piece of steel followed by a rubber mat across the steel pipes to finish the floor. This allows heat and air to circulate up to dry the calf.
I finished the bottom tank by cutting a slot in the side to slide a heater into. I drilled holes in the outer rim of the top and bottom tank to put in pins to hold the top tank to the bottom. This works great for warming up and drying newborn calves in the winter months.
