Vets Plus, Inc. (VPI) has received an “Excellent” rating after a surprise, three-day audit evaluating quality processes for nutritional and dietary supplement production relative to the Safe Quality Food Institute’s (www.sqf.com) most recent 8.0 Edition guidelines.
“Nothing pleases me more than achieving an “Excellent” rating from what is probably the world’s most rigorous and credible food safety program,” said Dave Nelson, President of Vets Plus, Inc. “This reflects management’s commitment to quality and safety as core values, as well as our employees’ willingness to do their jobs, every day, exactly as our quality standards require.”
The Safe Quality Food Program (SQF) is an internationally acclaimed and accredited system of food safety and quality codes that meet manufacturer, consumer and regulatory needs for food safety and quality. SQF is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (mygfsi.com) and is acknowledged to be a critical link to improved food safety standards and regulatory compliance made necessary by food supply globalization.
Dr. Anita Sinha, VPI’s Senior Vice President for Quality and Regulatory Affairs, added, “Quality is not something we check on periodically, it is something our teams live every day. We set strict standards on everything from the quality of raw ingredients to the efficacy of the formula to the manufacture of the final product. When we perform to these standards, we not only meet our needs but our customers’ needs, as well.”
In addition to meeting the standards of SQF 8.0, Vets Plus has earned some of the industry’s highest quality certifications, including FCA Standard (Feed Chain Alliance, a European quality standard issued by OVOCOM), USDA APHIS, and others. Vets Plus has received the National Animal Supplement Council’s (www.nasc.cc) MVP and Visibility Awards for the period 2015-2019.
