ALUS Behavior is one of the top 10 new products for 2021, selected by the renowned World Ag Expo®. It is the second product within the ALUS technology portfolio to win this award, confirming the value of this unique and easy-to-use technology for dairy farmers.

ALUS Behavior, developed by agtech company Cainthus, uses computer vision and artificial intelligence to monitor how the herd behaves in the pen, 24/7, in order to provide a complete behavior analysis. The goal is to ensure that your cows are displaying optimal behavioral patterns to maximize milk production, animal health and welfare.

ALUS Behavior enables farmers to monitor lying time, with the intent to make the changes required to improve cow comfort and address lameness or other health issues proactively. It will soon be updated with more features such as the 24 hours cow budget time, enabling farmers to optimize productive time, hence milk production.

Double award for ALUS technology

ALUS Behavior is the second product that Cainthus releases in 2020, after the launch of ALUS Nutrition (to optimize feed management) earlier this year. ALUS Nutrition was also the 2020 winner of the World Ag Expo new product competition. The fact that Cainthus won this World Ag Expo award twice in a row demonstrates the quality and relevance of the ALUS technology to large dairy farms.

The uniqueness of the ALUS technology - used for both the Nutrition and Behavior products - relies on a smart camera system that observes each pen 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Cainthus has developed state-of-the-art artificial intelligence to automatically turn visual inputs from cameras into real-time insights, displayed daily on any device available on the farm - phone, tablet or PC, via an easy-to-use interface.

Top 10 products to help farmers work more efficiently

“We are very excited that we are selected again as one of the top 10 new products for 2021. Cainthus has already installed its technology on several major farms in the U.S., tracking thousands of cows. We worked hard to ensure our unique technology provides meaningful value for producers. The feedback we get from them is very exciting”, said Cainthus CEO Aidan Connolly.

“The 2020 World Ag Expo Top-10 New Products list contains a wide array of products to help farmers work more efficiently,” said Mark Riley, Fresno/Visalia Market President, Bank of America. “This kind of agricultural innovation can be transformational for local farmers, especially as they pivot and adjust operations as a result of the pandemic”
