The Northeast Dairy Producers Association (NEDPA), which has served as the voice, resource and network for New York’s family dairy farms for more than three decades, today announced that Allyson Jones-Brimmer has been appointed Executive Director by its Board of Directors. Ms. Jones-Brimmer has served as the organization’s VP of Regulatory and Legislative Affairs since November 2023.

With over a decade of professional experience in the agriculture industry, Ms. Jones Brimmer has held positions at the U.S. Beet Sugar Association, Animal Agriculture Alliance, and Farm Credit East. In these roles, she built integral partnerships, managed strategy, and advocated on behalf of farmers.

“Being named Executive Director of NEDPA is an incredible honor. I look forward to building on the exceptional work of Tonya Van Slyke, NEDPA team members and the NEDPA leaders from throughout the past three decades that have made our organization what it is today,” said Ms. Jones-Brimmer. “For nearly two years, I have had the opportunity to work with our board, meet with members, and advocate on behalf of our organization's priorities in Albany. In this new role, I will continue to work with our industry partners to elevate the voice of dairy farms in the Northeast while navigating the ever-changing policies we are faced with at the local, state, and federal levels.”

“We have had the pleasure of working with Allyson in her role as VP of Regulatory and Legislative Affairs and are confident she will do a fantastic job as she transitions to Executive Director,” said Keith Kimball, NEDPA Board President. “NEDPA is fortunate to have such a strong and dedicated leader working on behalf of New York’s family dairy farms and industry partners.”

Allyson graduated from Cornell University, where she studied animal science and agriculture education and participated in the Dairy Fellows program. She is a 2020 graduate of the Virginia Agriculture Obtaining Results program and a 2016 graduate of the Young Dairy Leaders Institute. She serves as an active member of the New York State FFA Leadership Training Foundation Board of Directors. She grew up in Jefferson County and now lives in Central New York.

The Northeast Dairy Producers Association, which represents family dairy farms producing more than half of New York State's fluid milk, is an organization of dairy producers and industry partners committed to an economically viable, consumer-conscious dairy industry dedicated to the care and well-being of our communities, our environment, our employees and our cows.
