Farmers Union Chapter invites members and guests for a balanced community informational session on
Large Scale Solar at the Whitewater Innovation Center on Monday, August 18, 2025, from 5:30-8 pm.
This event will give an overview of existing and potential known projects, discuss adjacent landowner
considerations, and provide lease negotiation education. There will also be discussions around community
power, protections, agreements, & maximizing benefits.

“Our members have told us they want clear, unbiased information about energy development in southeastern
Wisconsin—context that helps them understand the issues without being told what to think,” said Tara Greiman,
WFU’s Director of Conservation and Stewardship. “This event is designed to equip farmers, landowners, and
community members with the tools they need to evaluate how energy projects may impact their land,
livelihoods, and the future of our electric grid.”
