Jared was raised on his family’s dairy, Hardingdale Holsteins, in New Philadelphia, Ohio. He has spent over 20 years working on the 60-cow dairy, milking, feeding, and handling the herd’s breeding. The herd size was recently downsized, and now includes a few Jerseys and Ayrshires, in addition to some Holsteins. The Ayrshires and Jerseys are owned with Jared’s sister, Juli Grove, under the Hargrove prefix.
“I first learned to breed cows through former COBA/Select Sires A.I. training school. Things have come full circle as I now get to work with our member-owners of SSMC. I appreciate the opportunity to meet new people and see cows every day,” shared Jared.
Chris Lahmers, Area 3 and Mexico Business Director for SSMC, shared, “Jared has tremendous knowledge and understanding of the dairy industry. His passion for Holsteins and this industry will make him a huge asset to the team.”
