Previously, Abby worked for 6-1/2 years as an agricultural extension agent based in Oconto County for the University of Wisconsin. Abby grew up on her family's 150-cow dairy farm in Plymouth, Wis. The farm is currently managed by her parents and brothers. She remains active on the family operation by milking cows and feeding calves when she is able.
A 2005 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Abby majored in dairy science and life science communications. In college, she was a member of the Badger Dairy Club, the Association of Women in Agriculture and the dairy cattle judging team. She also completed a master's degree in agriculture education and extension from North Carolina State University.
