I am a partner in Hansen's IGA (seven store grocery chain) in the La Crosse, Wis., area. My husband's parents started the business in 1968. I work with my husband, Greg, and his brother Nick. My primary role with the stores is coordinating advertising, public relations and pricing. After graduation, I worked for Alta Genetics in Hughson, Calif., as special projects coordinator in the advertising department from 1994 to 1996. After Alta Genetics, I started work with Hansen's IGA and have worked here since. My husband, Greg, and I have three children: Josie, Ella and Rudy, and we live in Bangor, Wis.The internship was an excellent experience, exposing me to all aspects of the publication and what it takes to produce the magazine. I was able to meet and work with some of the best in the industry, William Knox, Ewing Row and Steve Larson (editors). The internship helped to earn an internship in the advertising department at Select Sires. It also helped when I was at Alta Genetics.
