I currently work as a senior account executive at Charleston|Orwig, a marketing communications firm in Hartland, Wis. I started at C|O following college graduation in 2007. I work primarily on dairy and beef-related accounts. I have been married for three years to Josh Hushon, and currently live in Lake Mills, Wis., about 20 minutes from the Hoard's office. In my spare time, I enjoy running, watching Hokie football and spending time with the show heifers my husband's family owns. I currently serve as the public relations director on the National Board of Sigma Alpha Sorority.
The Hoard's Dairyman internship was one of my greatest experiences during college. The internship allowed me to visit the Western U.S. dairy industry for the first time, meet leading researchers and producers, and fully understand the opportunities available to young people in the dairy industry. The knowledge, skills and relations are still critical in my day-to-day work. The internship also helped me to land my job with C|O when Mike Opperman, the first editorial intern, received my name as a potential candidate for a job opening.
