An island nation half the size of Wisconsin with nearly as many cows, Ireland's milk production, along with that of the European Union, has been on lockdown for the past 30 years. Hosted by Enterprise-Ireland, I, along with three other U.S. journalists, had the opportunity to see firsthand where the nation's dairy industry is today and where it plans to go after quotas are lifted April 1, 2015.

Above is a snapshot of the pasture-based industry, which plans to grow its output 50 percent by 2020.
