Foremost



Foremost Farms USA® has awarded its 2016 Agricultural Education Scholarships to students pursuing careers in agriculture. Ten students will each receive $2,000 to put toward their education. Scholarships are funded by the Foremost Farms USA Charitable Foundation and recipients are the sons and daughters of our dairy farmer member-owners.

High School
Bridget Cleven is the daughter of Roger and Peggy Cleven, Kendall, Wis. Bridget is a graduating senior at Brookwood High School, Ontario, Wis., and plans this fall to attend the University of Wisconsin-Platteville to study agribusiness. Bridget is an active member of the Brookwood FFA, National Honor Society and Diversity Club. She is also in the Letter Club, 4-H Junior Dairy Club, is a junior leader and she plays softball and volleyball. Bridget expects to graduate from college in 2020.

Meikah Dado is the daughter of Rick and Gwen Dado, Amery, Wis. Meikah is a graduating senior at Amery High School and plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison this fall to study life sciences communication. She currently serves as her FFA chapter vice president and president of her 4-H club. She served as the 2014-15 Miss Amery and competed at the National FFA Convention with her parliamentary procedure team. She will be competing in extemporaneous speaking and job interview skills at this year's state convention. Meikah plans to graduate in 2020.

Andrew Gathje is the son of Andy and Nora Gathje, Stewartville, Minn. Andrew is a graduating senior at Chatfield High School, Chatfield, Minn., and this fall he plans to study dairy science at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, River Falls, Wis. Andrew is president of the Chatfield FFA and president of the Fillmore County 4-H Federation. He participated and received a first place in Region VIII in his Diversified Livestock SAE for which he was also a state finalist. Andrew received a state degree at the 2016 Minnesota State FFA Convention. He participated in cross country and captained his team. He also played baseball in high school. Andrew plans to graduate in 2020.

Joshua Korn is the son of William and Jane Korn, Cashton, Wis. Joshua is a graduating senior at Cashton High School and this fall plans to study agribusiness and science at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College, Fennimore, Wis. Joshua was involved in FFA as a member of the soils team going to nationals, was on the Student Council, Electrathon Team and "Roots and Shoots". He ran cross country and was involved in wrestling and track and field. He was selected for Badger Boys State and is a scholar athlete. Joshua plans to graduate in 2018.

Delaney Lensing is the daughter of Pat and Kim Lensing, Waucoma, Iowa. Delaney is a graduating senior at Turkey Valley Jr.-Sr. High School, Jackson Junction, Iowa, and plans to attend Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, to study agricultural business. Delaney is active in volleyball, basketball (her team was a Class 1A state runner-up), track and softball. She is class president and in the National Honor Society. Delaney enjoys farming and being outdoors. She plans to graduate from college in 2020.

Zachary Servais is the son of Tim and Lisa Servais, Stoddard, Wis. Zachary is a graduating senior at Central High School, La Crosse, Wis., and plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madison, Wis., this fall to study dairy science. He is a Badger Boys State participant, football team captain and captain of the quiz bowl team. He is also captain of the power-lifting team. Zachary plans to graduate from college in 2020.

College
Brittany Ehlen is the daughter of John and Jennifer Ehlen, Burlington, Wis. Brittany will be a sophomore this fall at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Platteville, Wis., studying engineering with an agricultural emphasis. She is involved in track and field and was also on the dean's list and chancellor's list. Brittany says, "farming and milking cows interests me." She plans to graduate in 2019.

Michael Lensch is the son of Jim and Verla Lensch, Lime Springs, Iowa. Michael will be a sophomore this fall at Lake Area Technical Institute, Watertown, S.D., where he is studying diesel technology. He is on the campus activity board and campus softball team. He also does work study and was project leader for the 2015 Bike Rack Challenge People's Choice Award. He works part-time on a dairy and beef farm. In high school, Michael was very active in FFA, earning many awards and degrees from his local FFA chapter. He also received the Outstanding Junior Award. Michael plans to graduate in 2017.

Rebecca Leslie is the daughter of Al and Dawn Leslie, Decker, Mich. Rebecca will be a senior this fall at Michigan State University, East Lansing, Mich., where she is studying agricultural education. She is a member of the Saginaw Valley women's rugby team and was the 2015 Sanilac County Bean Queen. She has been active in 4-H, soccer and is a Special Olympics volunteer and an assistant soccer coach. Rebecca plans to graduate in 2017.

Elizabeth Yanke is the daughter of Herb and Cathy Yanke, Prairie du Sac, Wis. Elizabeth will be a sophomore this fall at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Platteville, Wis., majoring in animal science. She is a member of Sigma Alpha and is on the UW-Platteville women's soccer team. She is a Diversified Agriculture Production Placement Proficiency state winner and is a member of the Pioneer Dairy Club. Elizabeth plans to graduate in 2019.
