Goma Dairy in Marlette, Mich., found that storing and freezing colostrum in plastic bags leads to a faster defrosting period. They keep colostrum in a freezer right near the maternity pen. Each colostrum bag goes in a large rectangular plastic food container. Keeping the bags in the plastic container eliminates possible breakage.
