Kelly Flack was recently named a Vita Plus Lanark livestock specialist. In this role, Flack will work closely with dairy, beef, and youngstock producers in the Lanark area to understand their production goals and provide industry-leading feed, nutrition, and management expertise. Working closely with her Vita Plus teammates, Flack will provide on-farm technical support and the latest in research and technologies to help farms achieve long-term success.

Flack grew up on her family’s farm and has worked extensively throughout the livestock feed industry. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and received her bachelor’s degree in animal science. Flack then worked as a feedlot management intern at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She continued her education at UW-Madison, where she worked as a research assistant and earned her master’s degree in dairy science. Her thesis focused on growing Holstein gravid heifers and the effects of limit-feeding on first lactation. Flack has since spent more than 10 years as a technical services feed consultant in northern Illinois, troubleshooting and providing nutrition and management solutions for dairy and beef producers.
