BROWN SWISS – CBAD
C places over B in this class of Brown Swiss cows using her decided advantage in dairyness, being more angular throughout, sharper down her topline, and more incurving in her thigh. Additionally, she has a stronger fore udder attachment and tracks straighter on her rear legs. I admit that B has more width at the top of her rear udder.
B easily places over A in my middle pair using her major advantage in udder. She has more height and width to her rear udder, more balance and capacity in her rear udder, and a more correct teat shape and placement. B also has more length to her frame, is stronger in her loin, and flatter across her tailhead. I grant that A is more clean cut throughout.
Finally, A places over D in her advantage in udder, being fuller at the top of her rear quarters and having more length to her fore udder. Additionally, A has more style and balance to her frame, has more depth of rib, and is longer from end to end. She is also more open through her ribs. I admit that D has less set to her hock, but lacks the height and width of rear udder to merit a higher placing.
