For the next year and a half, the staff at National Dairy Farmers Assuring Responsible Management Program (FARM) will have their work cut out for them as they begin to plan and develop their Animal Care 2028 standards. They’re asking for producers’ help via a stakeholder survey, which is available through Sept. 5. The aim is to collect input from farmers and other industry members on the subjects, issues, and potential challenges that FARM should consider going forward. FARM will be working with multiple organizations, including the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) Animal Health and Wellbeing Committee, the FARM Farmer Advisory Council, Animal Care Task Force, and the NMPF board of directors to review the current version of the standards. The resulting updates and improvements are slated to take effect on Jan. 1, 2028. The survey, which will take about 15 minutes to complete, can be found
here; results will be posted on the FARM website in early 2026.
