A TV crew spent the day at the Hoard’s Dairyman Farm learning about the history of the farm and some of the new technology available to dairies.

Inga Witscher and Corey Geiger

Telling the story of dairy is the goal of June dairy month, and this year, the Hoard’s Dairyman Farm got to do just that when the Wisconsin Public Television show Around the Farm Table visited.

The episode, which aired last night, featured the Hoard’s Dairyman Farm, Bifrost Farm, the UW Research Station in Spooner, Wis., and a reunion of women who served as Alice in Dairyland.

The show begins at the Hoard’s Dairyman Farm where Managing Editor Corey Geiger shares a bit of the farm’s history with the Around the Farm Table’s host Inga Witscher. Geiger showed Inga and the camera crew how we utilize a handheld reader to check cows and input data in the barn.

The Hoard’s Dairyman Farm hosted Inga Witscher and her Around the Farm Table show to celebrate June Dairy Month.

The show proceeds to visit a goat dairy, a sheep research center, and ends with a tasty looking cheesecake recipe and visit with one of Wisconsin’s most iconic ambassadors, Alice in Dairyland.

Beyond hosting the PBS show, Witscher also owns and operates her own organic farm where she milks 15 Jersey cows. To learn more about the show or watch some of the archived episodes, visit www.aroundthefarmtable.com.
