by Hoard's Dairyman staff
Our Hoard's Dairyman editors blog five times each week. Topics are timely, as posts often follow presentations, conferences, or special announcements. These events end at random hours throughout the day, so the timing of our blog posts vary daily.
Wouldn't it be great if you knew about a blog just as it was posted rather than waiting for it to appear?
Really Simple Syndication (RSS) does just that. RSS allows HD Notebook's content to be delivered to you once it's posted. Click on the icon at the bottom of this post to link to our blog feed where you can sign-up to have posts sent to your email via an RSS reader.
What is RSS?
RSS allows updated online content, like a blog, to be put in a standardized format. Other terms commonly used are "feed," "web feed," or "channel." Your email client may already have an RSS-reader built in. Otherwise, sign up with your Google account at reader.google.com.
Once you sign up and subscribe to www.hoards.com/blogfeed, the RSS checks your subscribed feeds for new content and downloads any updates that it finds. RSS allows users to avoid visiting numerous websites and searching for new information.
While your news will get to you faster, there is still a lot of content that can accumulate over time, so we have also grouped blog topics on our website. There are 18 different topic areas such as crops, genetics, herd management, ag policy, dairy promotion, and international agriculture. With over 600 blogs to review, you can look in one location to find the subject matter that interests you most. Click on www.hoards.com/blog/archives to see the 18 topic areas.
Hoard's Dairyman has been bringing news to dairy producers for over 127 years. Now, we can bring it to you even faster and provide it in an organized format. Click on the RSS icon below to set up your RSS feed, or click on the HD Notebook RSS link in the lower right-hand corner of any page on our website.
