Western Dairy Management Conference

The dairy industry's biggest producer-focused informational event of the year is just six weeks away, in the form of the 12th Western Dairy Management Conference (WDMC) on March 3, 4 and 5 in Reno, Nev.

A major change to this year's event will be a Tuesday-to-Thursday format, with the first day being a half-day program (beginning in the afternoon), rather than the last day as in previous years. A welcome reception will follow.

Days two and three will be filled with presentations – all of which will be given twice during the conference and will focus on practical information that producers can take home and apply to their farms. Industry receptions will be held all three evenings.

Held every other year since 1993, WDMC is the largest dairy event of its kind in the world. More than 1,600 people participated in 2013, including owners and managers of dairies from around the world who milked a total of more than 1 million cows.

Full details about the conference, registration and payment, and a link for making reservations at the John Ascuaga's Nugget hotel site are available at www.wdmc.org.

A printable list of the 19 presentations, five panel discussions, and the individuals giving them can be downloaded here.
