More than 3,100 Holstein members and fans were riveted to their screen on Saturday evening to watch the live unveiling of the 20 new Canadian Master Breeders. This was the third edition of this virtual event, hosted by Alex McKay, Classifier, and Caroline Jovanovic, Cattle Assessor.

Of the breeders who received this exciting news, 10 come from Quebec, nine from Ontario and one from Alberta. Congratulations to all these breeders on winning the most coveted Holstein Canada award.

Since its beginning in 1929, the Master Breeder Award recognizes the breeding achievements of Holstein Canada members and is seen as the pinnacle of success. Since its inception, more than 1,000 Master Breeder shields have been handed out. Recipients are recognized for building herds with the best ratio of cows that are the complete package – high production and outstanding conformation with great reproduction, health and longevity.
