Participants in the Kwik Trip Tour of America’s Dairyland (ToAD) will have the chance to immerse themselves in Wisconsin’s varied topography and unique communities — while pitting themselves against pro and amateur bicycle racers from around the world. The racing event, which will take place over 11 days and span 11 communities and neighborhoods in the state, has been held annually since 2009, with the support of sponsors large and small. And for the second year, Hoard’s Dairyman Farm Creamery is a bronze-level sponsor of the race series, joining other Wisconsin businesses such as Trek Bicycles to showcase the state and its homegrown businesses while supporting this massive event. The Creamery’s cheese will make an appearance on the ToAD podium, as winners will hoist wheels of Hoard’s Belaire and Mexican Manchego cheeses when they celebrate their victories.
Metaphorical kickstands will go up on Thursday, June 19, as racers gather in Janesville for the Town Square Gran Prix, followed by events in West Allis, Grafton, De Pere, Cedarburg, Oak Creek, Bay View, Shorewood, Milwaukee, and Wauwatosa. The event is more than its series of races, though — the hosting locales put out the cowbells along with the local culinary delights (cheese included), and offer family activities to make the nation’s longest competitive road cycling series that much more special.
