Outgoing chairman Adam Kauf, Bedford County passed the gavel onto the incoming chair, Ned Hower, a Northampton County cow-calf producer. Other Executive team members include Harrison Hartman, Vice-Chair, Duff George, Treasurer and Marty Yahner, Secretary.

New producer additions to the board include Justin Glossner, serving as the Central Region Beef Representative. Amy Hess will serve as the Statewide Beef Representative and William Lesher, the Eastern Region Dairy Representative. Rounding out new board members is Paul Mills as the Retail Representative.

When asked about his new role as chairman, Ned Hower said, “I’ve served on the Executive Team since 2018 and I look forward to serving this organization as a chair-person. I believe in the work of The Beef Checkoff and am proud to represent beef producers in Pennsylvania in this role”.

In addition to the annual meeting, directors and staff heard from Troy Brockelman, Director of Grain Analysis and Global Trade for CattleFax. His presentation included analysis of all aspects of the cattle and beef industry combined with research in feed grain markets and the global protein and grain markets.

Nichole Hockenberry, Executive Director of the PBC said “having Troy in to present to our board and staff really helped to paint the picture of where the industry can expect cattle markets and commodity prices to head in the future. Being armed with this knowledge helps us to better serve the producers we work on behalf of here in PA.”
