In an age where we have the science and technology available to produce clean, safe raw milk, it’s great to see Iowa paving the way for more small dairies to find success, and for more people to have access to raw milk as detailed by the story, “Iowa flips and now allows raw milk sales.” I know so many people who depend on raw milk and raw milk products for maintaining their health when, unfortunately, pasteurized dairy products aren’t well tolerated by their bodies.
I applaud Hoard’s Dairyman for this statement in the May 22 article There is no room for food bullying: “What we choose to eat and to feed our families depends on factors, including our preferences, culture, dietary needs, and budget.” For many, raw milk is the choice due to dietary needs, and so it is great to see another state allowing people access to the type of dairy of their choice.
