This letter is in response to the "Walmart's organic promise" article in last week's Hoard's Dairyman Intel email:
There is no way Walmart can sell organic products at the same price as nonorganics. Someone is making that decision who has no idea on the price of production. But knowing Walmart, they will simply tell their supplier what they are willing to pay, and if they can't accommodate they will try to find someone who will. At the end of the day, they will cause more harm than help to the production of organic foods. I've seen how large "box stores" operate, and they can be ruthless.
