Regarding "Trees and green space ‘improve' our health," I agree completely that trees and green space enrich our souls. Although this was beyond the scope of the research you reported, it occurs to me that interactions with cows also enrich the souls of dairy farm owners and employees.
I haven't worked directly with cows for a good many years. But I still yearn for the good feelings I had as a youth working with my 4-H project animals and milking cows on my dad's farm. I remember a day as a teenager that it fell to me to finish a haymaking or grain harvesting operation in the fields while others milked the cows one evening. It was then that I realized that there was something peaceful and fulfilling about doing the evening milking as the final task of the day. Maybe it's because, in those days, we were milking only about 30 cows!
