Canadian "traders" maybe overlooked a few things discussed in the October 21 Hoard's Dairyman Intel item "Canadian dairy farmers upset by trade deal."

First of all, the European Union is "GMO free" (all of their food). What can North America send their way that's legal to sell in their markets? Secondly, the EU is years ahead of North America on animal welfare standards - no farrowing, crates, all cattle "not tied," "free to roam" fowl and so forth.

How do those issues get resolved in trade negotiations?
