I would like to provide some perspective after reading your Hoard’s Dairyman Intel item “What will the dairy world look like in 2030?” I do not see much growth in New Zealand cow numbers over this time period. Public perception about environmental concerns will result in at best stagnant numbers.

Per cow production will continue to increase, but from a low average when compared to North American and European numbers. Finding competent staff to run our farms is becoming increasingly difficult, and this is currently the most pressing issue we face.
