cattle on dry land

Comments refer to Hoard's Dairyman Intel item, "New Zealand dairy land is expensive, too."

I would agree that top land prices are near $60,000 New Zealand dollars per hectare. However, according to New Zealand's Real Estate Institute report, 23 dairy farms were sold throughout New Zealand at an average of $35,281 per hectare in May. Taranaki and Canterbury were top regions with sales ranging from $51,700 to $58,000 on average. For more details, go to www.interest.co.nz/rural/resources/farm-sales.
