Visit the Hoard’s Dairyman booth in the Exhibition Hall to browse through our variety of educational resources and gifts.

The weather is cooling, the leaves are starting to turn, and football is back. For dairy enthusiasts, that all means two things: corn silage harvest is underway or complete, and World Dairy Expo will be here soon.

Our office has been busy preparing for the show for weeks, from working on our Expo-focused September 10 issue to getting ready for visitors, organizing schedules, and planning booths. There is no better time to enjoy all the industry has to offer while looking ahead to new opportunities and catching up on old memories and with friends. Expo is a busy week, but it is wonderful to be able to connect with readers and partners in person to help strengthen our dairy community.

If you’re attending Expo this year, one way we hope to meet you is at our booth in the Exhibition Hall. Here, you can grab our Expo-focused issue to help find your way around the grounds and read up on the schedule and attractions. You can also stop by the booth to renew or start a subscription or chat with one of our team members.

That booth right inside the Exhibition Hall doors (location 4327 and 4328) will also be where you can find a selection of items from the Hoard’s Dairyman Bookstore. In previous years, you could shop our books at our booth in the Coliseum, but this year, the Arena Level of the Coliseum will host seating areas, shopping, and family fun instead of trade show booths.

The Bookstore is our way to offer additional education to help dairy farmers care for their animals and run their businesses better. There are resources on feeding, animal health, business, milk quality, and more. Our most popular titles include Dairy Cattle Fertility, Feeding Guide, Calf Care, Farm Accounts and Records, and Corn Silage: From Seed to Feed, our newest book.

Another Bookstore favorite is the Judging Guide, which makes a great gift for youth dairy judges (plus, don’t forget that our Cow Judging Contest is just around the corner). We also break down cow conformation by trait in Learning Linear. On the showmanship side, Leading to Win paints the picture of how to display your animal in the showring.

You can check out gifts for other special dairy people in your life with our books like Hoard Leadership and Hoard Legacy that highlight important moments in the industry’s history. To give the gift of beautiful dairy images all year long, pick up a hot-off-the-press 2024 calendar and get the new year off to a great start.

We hope to see you in the Exhibition Hall this year to find a book you can take home to improve your business or bring a smile to those you love. Stop by to flip through these options and many more and to say hi!
